From Zoe Duhr:
Thank you for the great evening, Doris and Laureen. Didn't know that people like Marilyn Erickson and Marg Woodley were part of this class. AND, I actually remembered a whole lot of people when I looked at their name tags. Could remember personalities. Interesting. And some of the "boys" remembered how naughty they were in my class! Well, typing to music was a lot of fun, so lots of nonsense. Continue to have a super weekend.

From Pam and Gordie Adams:
What a wonderful event. Thank you, to all the people that put it together. Gord and I really enjoyed seeing and talking to everyone. Reconnecting with old friends as if no time had passed. It is hard to believe it has been 50 years because everyone looked far too young. Good food, good friends, good fun🏆 Best wishes to all💐

Dear Laureen, Maureen, Doris, and all the planning gang, just a personal note to say how much I loved the reunion, and how grateful I am to all the committee. It was really quite perfect. Everything beautifully planned and orchestrated. Thank you from my heart for such a memorable and happy time. It will prove unforgettable as the years pass. I feel so lucky to be “On this side of the grass” (Laureen, you were so entertaining and funny on both nights!) in the company of wonderful old friends. Some I knew since I was in pre-school. I am basking in the memories of the last few days. They were truly special.

Merci beaucoup. Just wanted to extend my thanks for a job well done, except maybe for the weather. I have to hand it to you for all the hard/fun work that you did finding us all, planning a wonderful reunion and pulling it off so well. It was not a small task, but one you can feel a great deal of satisfaction on having successfully pulled off. Thanks for all this work and I had the best time reconnecting with folks I hadn’t seen for the most part in 50 years, with a few exceptions. So, my hats are off to you, my friends, for a great 50th reunion. I can’t wait for further gatherings and I think a five year interval is a great idea. Again, thanks to you all

Hi all, it was such a super weekend, and I really enjoying seeing so many familiar faces. The activities were just wonderful, well paced and letting folks mix and mingle. Thanks a lot to all the hardworking committee members for a great job well done. John Heisterman was a perfect person for the Saturday MC and Bob Murphy did a great job putting 1965 into perspective for all of us to remember. Bravo to Tom Hall, donning the grad dress. What a hoot!

From Tom Hall:
Wow! Memory Lane. Hugs to the Organizers for such a great job. You are a very special group. Seems I went overboard with my enthusiasm. I've been grounded and told no more 50th Reunions for me. So so fun to be rejoined by the Monterey Elementary girls gang. The evening was such a pleasant surprise.
Note from the Organizing Committee: No worries, Tom. There won't be another 50th. The next one will be the 55th! Would you prefer a long dress next time?

From Lorraine and Bob Preston:
After a short trip on Vancouver Island we find ourselves back in Edmonton. It seems lonely after seeing so many old and new friends at the reunion. Lorraine and I wanted to express our appreciation for all the hard work, dedication and friendship the committee displayed to make the reunion the success it was. The whole weekend was nothing short of outstanding and so well organized. I can’t say enough about the fellowship, friendship, organization of the events and the well oiled programs. I wish we lived closer so we could have assisted in some form but we genuinely appreciated the hard work and the professionalism of the committee. I hope we can repay this in some form going forward. If anyone is in Edmonton please give me a call and we can enjoy some more wine and old stories. Our doors are always open.
Note: OBHS 1965 classmates can send an email to our gmail account to get connected with Bob.

Hi Committee people, I really want to say thank you again for a terrific weekend. I had a great time. John Heisterman was a so perfect MC! And, even though no one really danced, our hearts were light. Great job, everyone.

From John Pendray:
Belated thanks for organizing such a great weekend for all those in attendance! You could not have done a better job; it was perfect! I attended more or less all the events including the unofficial lunch at the pub after the school tour. I believe we all couldn’t get enough of just hanging around together. And where else can you walk into a room and everyone there is the same age and grew up in the same place? It was a unique experience. Although I knew almost everyone there from somewhere in my past, it was fun trying to figure out whether we knew each other best from elementary school, Lansdowne Junior, UVic, or just the three years at Oak Bay. Everyone had different memories and could fill in the blanks! The committee’s printing out a few class photos from the elementary schools was a nice touch. Thanks again, Committee, for your hard work and for pulling off such a wonderful weekend! Hope you had some fun doing it! Also hope that the OBHS 65 group can continue to keep in touch through your data base of people, and maybe get together again in some fashion down the road.
